The Numismatic Museum was formally established in 1962 AD within the premises of Hanumandhoka Royal Palace. It was shifted to the historical building of the National Museum which was built by General Bhimsen Thapa as the arsenal depositary in 1993 BS and was called Chhauni Silkhana. The Museum has a great collection of brilliant coins including various determinations in chronological order. The coins of different periods and dynasties of Nepal are representatively displayed in the museum that also covers a long story of Numismatic. It is the only numismatic museum in the entire nation that holds the coin history of Nepal. Therefore, i would like to humbly request every visitor to visit the museum and know about the rare coin artifacts and coin history of Nepal.
